Anthony on the RS125

In the span of one month, Anthony has already put on over 350 miles on his 2000 RS125. On November 9th he attended his first track day with Keigwin's at the Track at Thunderhill in Northern California. Less than a month later, on the weekend of December 5th he attended a trackday with The Track Club at Buttonwillow in Central California.

Anthony has LOVED riding the bike "Daddy... the acceleration is AWESOME" and with your support he could have even more track-time which is essential for him to prepare for the 2010 Racing Season.

How Can you Help?

You can help in many ways. We are new to big-boy racing and can use help with almost anything. Have you raced RS125s (or two-strokes) before and have some tips for us? Do you know how to rebuild RS125 motors or could teach me to do it? Do you have any spare track days available you would not mind sharing with Anthony? Do you have spare parts (tires, pistons, cranks, etc) to share? Do you have any extra cash to help pay for parts, fees or transportation?

There are my ways to help, join Anthony's current sponsors (YRR USA, Evolution Suspension, Fremont Honda, BARF Racing, SuperMoto Engineering, Cycle Gear, Motorex, SaferMoto) as he follows his dream.

Become a personal sponsor by donating $50.00 or more. Your name or company name will be proudly displayed (the size of the font will be relative to the personal sponsorship) on the side fairings.

Who is Anthony Alonso?

Anthony has been racing motorcycles since he was 7 (he is 11 now). Like all current MotoGP front-runners, his passion for motorcycles started on PocketBikes and it's only grown since. At age 9 he began ridding shifters with an NSR50R and at age 10 we added a more-powerful NSR65R.

Anthony does not have many championships to speak about, but that is because his focus on Mini bikes has NEVER been to win championships, it's only been to learn how to go very fast and be smooth (though he's won many races). Even at 7 he would race his 4.2hp PocketBike against 12hp PocketBikes. This year (like the years before), he races his Stock NSR50R against bikes making twice the power, likewise, he races his NSR65R against RS92/RS150s and CRF150Rs. The goal on Mini bikes has only been to ride at 100% for the entire race and have his confidence grow.

He's raced against many of today's top-youth racers; Cameron Beubier, Peter Lenz, Josh Serne, Tucker Lancaster, amongst others.

What are Anthony's Plans for 2010?

Anthony's plans are to practice, practice, practice. Our intent is to go to as many track-days as possible and understand the new bike, new speed, and new tracks before he turns 12 in May. This formula has proven successful in the past, as Anthony learns much from practicing.

In addition, while we'll be saying good-bye to the NSR50R, Anthony will continue to race the NSR65R at Mini events as he continues to learn to extract the maximum from it.

What is the Budget for 2010?

With the help of people that have experience racing RS125s, we've budgeted around $11,500 to race 5 rounds and attend 12 track days. This is a HUGE cost-increase from Mini-bikes. It turns outs RS125-racing is quite a bit more expensive than racing NSRs. The biggest expenses are the maintenance schedule, which includes crank, piston/ring and cylinder replacement and track day and race fees.
